Dogs and Rabbits - Do you know their Commonalities (you may be surprised!)
You probably know dogs are descendants of wolves, but do you know rabbits are as well?
Here are some other commonalities:
-they both usually like to be pet, rubbed and paid attention to
-they both are usually social and will prefer to be in the company of people or other animals
-they are both “trainable” and habit forming
-they like to make decisions and express their emotions and feelings
both need mental and physical stimulation in the form of games, toys and cognitive stimulation
-they both love to have freedom and exercise and do not like to be confined in cages against their will
-both have a much more acute sense of smell than humans
-they both enjoy having fun, even being a little impish, and can outsmart humans
-they both express change in behavior from newborn into the adolescence stage
Can you see why Canine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is effective with both?
Yes, CCBT is effective in creating a bond, house training and socializing rabbits, as well as overcoming fear and anxiety!
Fun Fact:
Billie’s first client on the east coast of Canada, in the early 2000’s, owned a rabbit rescue! Not only did CCBT help her adopted greyhound to overcome anxieties common among adopted dogs, but she then applied the concepts to the rescued rabbits with great success!
And we cannot leave out the most obvious commonality:
BEST EARS EVER!!
Happy Easter Everyone!
